The Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at South City Hospital, Karachi offers structured postgraduate training in women’s health, combining advanced clinical exposure with compassionate patient care. This is a paid program for a total duration of four years. Residents gain hands-on experience in antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, as well as high-risk pregnancy management, gynecological surgeries, minimally invasive techniques, infertility, and reproductive endocrinology. The program provides extensive exposure through both outpatient and inpatient services, including emergency obstetric care and comprehensive labor ward training.


The program emphasizes evidence-based medicine, surgical proficiency, and patient-centered practice. Residents actively participate in academic activities such as journal clubs, case discussions, and research projects. With access to modern facilities, high patient volumes, and mentorship from leading specialists, the program equips trainees to become skilled, ethical, and confident obstetricians and gynecologists capable of excelling locally and internationally.


Eligibility Criteria For Obstetrics and Gynaecology Residency Program:

  1. MBBS with valid PMDC License
  2. FCPS Part I in Obstetrics and Gynaecology

  1. 2 Passport size photographs
  2. 1 Computerized National Identity Card Photocopy
  3. Complete updated Curriculum Vitae (CV) with references
  4. Photocopy of Domicile & PRC
  5. Photocopies of Matric & Intermediate Certificates
  6. Photocopy of Medical (Graduation) Degree
  7. Photocopies of all MBBS Professional Marks Sheets (Consolidated OR Annual/Supplementary)
  8. Photocopy of Valid PMDC
  9. Photocopies of House Job Certificates
  10. Photocopy of FCPS Part I (Congratulations Letter for FCPS program)
  11. Photocopy of RTMC (If Applicable)
  12. Photocopies of Letter of Recommendations / Testimonials Copies of Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Lift Support (ACLS) certificates.


Foreign Nationals are required to get Study Visa & Clearance from Interior Ministry before joining program.
